Magic shows for children’s birthdays, weddings, anniversaries & special events

Are you planning a wedding, anniversary, bar mitzvah, christening, communion or other family get-together? Are you tired of Uncle Bob boring you with the same old card trick he showed you at the last family reunion? If so, René’s magic provides the perfect solution.

Magic shows for children’s birthday parties

I offer great entertainment with my magic show for children. The show varies between 40-45 minutes for preschool/kindergarten kids and between 50-60 minutes for school children. By the way, the kid’s show works on two levels and is therefore also great fun for the parents, too! However, the tricks are best suited to 5 to 12 year-olds.

Two different shows available: Show 1: ages 4 1/2 to 7 yrs; Show 2: ages 8 to 12.

“You did such a wonderful job today - you were so funny and charming and, of course, magical! Our kids are still raving about it. We'll certainly tell all our networks here in Munich about you.”

Wedding Magic Shows

Weddings are my speciality. Obviously, the stars at the wedding will always be the wedding couple and no one, not even a magician, should attempt to “steal the show”.

I can provide fine magical entertainment to make ‘the most important day of your life’ even more memorable for you and your guests.

Together, we can even rehearse a funny sketch and incorporate bride and groom into the show (with prior consent, of course).

A combination of close-up table magic, followed by a short cabaret-style show is best suited to weddings. This could be preceded by strolling close-up magic during the drinks reception.

“We like to think back to the day of our wedding. Your unforgettable performance contributed to the success of this day. All of our guests were very impressed by your show. For this we would like to thank you once again, thank you!”

Magic shows for private parties, anniversaries & special occasions

Often a close-up show, with smaller objects performed at a table, either standing or seated, for everyone at the same time. This is popular at smaller family reunions, anniversaries and parties where I have a set location and time slots spread throughout the event.

Types of Magic

Close Up Magic

The most intimate style of sleight-of-hand magic that happens before your very eyes.

Helps to bond a group of people eg meeting for the first time, breaks the ice and generates conversation at both formal and informal events.

Suitable for corporate hospitality, conferences, weddings and trade fairs (exhibitions)

Stage Magic

Suitable for a larger seated audience if there is a stage or dance floor available. Uses music and bigger props that are clearly visible from a distance.

FAQs

  • This is a difficult question since I’m a magician, not a clairvoyant 😉

But as a rule of thumb, you should think about booking your entertainment about six weeks ahead for a specific date, especially on Summer weekends and the Christmas season. Even if the date is not yet 100% sure, we can always reschedule later, subject to availability.

  • The fee will depend on various factors including number of guests, travel time/distance, duration and time of day.

  • Children under 4 ½ haven’t really grasped the concept of magic yet. For them, something disappearing from A and landing at B is normal, right? They have an amazing imagination at this age. Especially the comedy aspects appeal to very young audiences and my show is filled with comedy, ‘bits of business’, sight gags, etc. But if it’s a small group, I would recommend starting with a 5th birthday. If however, they are surrounded by 5+ year-olds, then a 4th birthday can also work. I do birthday parties up to the age of eleven or twelve because I integrate tricks from my adult shows. If the kids are older than eight, you may want to book my show followed by a magic workshop instead of balloon modelling.

  • There are various show options, depending on space, location, time frame, etc. Some people prefer to see magic performed at very close quarters known as table- or close-up magic. Here I mix ‘n mingle with the audience, either when they’re seated or standing up during a drinks reception or at a conference, etc. in the break. They’ll see tricks with banknotes, cards, paper, balls, dice kiwis(!) etc.

Or if you have less time and a suitable room, you can also book a show for everyone to enjoy at the same time. I call these after-dinner or cabaret shows. However, I often combine the latter with close-up magic which rounds off the evening nicely.

  • Yes, there’s plenty of opportunitiy for audience members to particpate during both close-up and stage magic. But I never force anyone to come up and assist and never embarrass them! Quite a bit of the close-up magic happens in spectators hands.

  • Yes, I’m an Associate of the Inner Magic Circle (one step higher) and also the German equivalent: “Magischer Zirkel.” I’m also a member of Equity.

  • Yes, as long as it’s for a good cause and doesn’t collide with my paid bookings.

  • It‘s important that there is enough light, preferably natural light coming from the side or from behind my audience. I don‘t like working in front of windows or mirrors because of the brightness and reflections making the backdrop to “busy”. A bookcase, wall or switched-off TV is ideal. It‘s
