Venue Magic Shows

I perform an award-winning magic & comedy act in a choice of four languages for arts centres, cabarets, comedy clubs and the smaller private theatres. My performance length ranges from 9 minutes to a full-evening show (2x45 min)

Arts centres, cabarets and small theatres

My stand-up cabaret show is ideally suited to an audience of up to approx. 100 people, whilst remaining intimate enough for people to become involved. It can be combined with mix-n-mingle close-up magic during the reception, table-magic or both.

In the cabaret show, I use slightly larger objects than for close-up magic. Among other things, a glass of orange juice appears out of nowhere, a sketchpad drawing starts to develop a life of its own, there are comedic mind-reading and audience- participation stunts and a signed banknote ends up in a previously-examined kiwi !!

Duration: between 9 and 45 minutes.

“We really enjoyed your show and appreciate you being so professional with the small space and the varied crowd!”

— GIGI HOEHN, BETH SHALOM e.V. MUNICH”

Restaurant magic shows

I work in restaurants strolling from table to table entertaining your patrons, either on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis (residency), during special culinary events such as show cooking, VIP dinners, or as part of a 'magic-dinner event'. This is a great opportunity for restaurants and hotels to fill their tables on typically-quiet midweek nights by offering a say three-course dinner including table-top entertainment followed by a cabaret show.

Magic shows for festivals & amusement Parks

I perform one of two family-oriented shows for amusement parks, open days, fundraisers and festivals. My magic shows attract additional visitors to these venues because they are live and add value to the usual fairground rides on offer. What's more, my family magic shows work on two levels, appealing to both young and old in much the same way as a successful prime-time TV format/show.

“A brilliant show.
The perfect balance of magician skills and humour to keep everyone thoroughly entertained.
A great show for all the family, a great dry sense of humour and definitely one to watch in the future. Rene should be on TV for sure.”

FAQs

  • This is a difficult question since I’m a magician, not a clairvoyant 😉

But as a rule of thumb, you should think about booking your entertainment at least two months ahead if you are fixed on a special date, especially if it’s during Summer weekends or the Christmas season. Even if the date is not 100% sure yet, we can always reschedule, subject to availability.

  • Children under the age of 4 ½ haven’t really grasped the concept of magic yet. For them, if something disappears from A and lands in B, that just normal. Right? They have an amazing imagination. The comedy aspects especially appeal to kids at very young age and my show is also full of sight gags, etc. But if it’s a small group, I would recommend no younger than a fifth birthday. If however, they are surrounded by many 5+ year olds, then a 4th birthday would also work. I can do birthday parties up to the age of eleven or twelve because I also integrate elements from my adult shows. If the kids are above about eight, you can also book the show followed by a magic workshop instead of balloon modelling.

  • Yes, I’m an Associate of the Inner Magic Circle (one step higher) and also the German “Magischer Zirkel” and also an overseas Equity member.

  • I am an experienced and professional magician with over 30 years experience under my belt. I’ve worked in every possible situation from entertaining tipsy corporate clients on wobbly river rafts to performing for freezing spectators watching a ski race on the side of a snow-covered mountain. I’ve performed professionally on four continents and in five languages, including Argentina, Japan, the Edinburgh Fringe and the exclusive Magic Castle in Hollywood. I have won several awards with my magic, including a first prize in both Germany and Austria for comedy magic.
